President's Day Cactus Classic

WHAT:  2011 President’s Day Cactus Classic, a wood bat event presented by H2 Baseball.

WHERE:  Tucson, Arizona, Kino Sports Complex

WHEN: February 18-21, 2011

TWO DIVISIONS:

  • Unlimited Division, ages 38 and up (teams may roster 3 players 35-37; underage players may not pitch)
  • 55+ Division (teams may roster 5 players 48-54; underage players may not pitch).

Format

     GUARANTEES:  5 games guaranteed.  Pool play plus playoffs, with Championship game Monday morning.  All teams practice Thursday afternoon, followed by two games on Friday and pool play wrapup on Saturday before playoffs.  Single or double-elimination playoffs will be determined by the number of teams competing and division breakdown.

     MINIMUMS:  4 teams needed to complete a division.

     RULES:  Use H2Baseball rules.

     ELIGIBILITY:  Tournament is open to all leagues and teams.  All participants must be in good standing with their home league.

     ROSTERS:  Max 25 players per team.

     LOCKER ROOM:  All players will have a locker in a MLB spring training locker room and have access to trainer services, daily laundry, continental breakfast, and post-game icing as well as adult refreshments.  Teams lockers will be grouped together, based on registrations received by Feb. 8.  Cookout planned Sunday night at the Locker Room along with final Kangaroo Court.

     AWARDS:  Champions – $500 in H2Baseball credits, toward rings, event fees, apparel, equipment, etc.  Runner-up received $250 in H2Baseball credits.
